Governors
The WCL Federation (Woodmansterne and Crown Lane) Governing Body is responsible for ensuring children receive a good education which prepares them for the next stage of their learning journey.
Together with the Executive Headteacher and the Head of School, who is responsible for day-to-day management and organisation of the school, the Governing Board determines the school's aims, policies, and future direction.
Members of the Governing Body serve in a voluntary capacity for a minimum period of 4 years. The total membership is 15 people as follows:
- 2 parent governors - elected by election (or appointment if insufficient people stand for election) and drawn from parents and carers of children at both schools in the WCL Federation.
- 1 staff governor - selected by election from teaching and support staff paid to work at any of the schools in the WCL Federation.
- 1 representative appointed by the Lambeth Education Authority and confirmed by the governing body.
- 10 co-opted governors - appointed by the governing body to represent community interests and develop the strength and diversity of the governing body.
- the Executive Headteacher (Ex-Officio).
The Governing Body has overall responsibility for the strategic direction, vision, and ethos of the school. It monitors the progress of children and policies covering all aspects of their welfare. It approves the 3 year School Improvement Plan aimed at raising achievement and standards.
Members also join a committee which reports back to the Full Governing Body.
The 4 committees are:
- Academic & Achievement
- Pastoral & Community
- Finance, Facilities & Resources
- Pay & HR
