Crown Lane Primary School & Children's Centre

Crown Lane Primary School

Children start nursery at the start of each term. Your child starts nursery the term after their 3rd Birthday. When allocating places, priority is given to those that have siblings in the school. Looked After Children and children with a medical or social reason as well as distance to school from home are also a consideration. Offers are made for a full time, morning or afternoon place and we will do our best to accommodate your choice.

Application forms are available from the school office. You can also download the application form in .doc or .pdf format and submit it by post or via email to We will then contact you to confirm your child's place.

We run stay and play sessions for the children that are starting in the Nursery.

Admission to Reception is through the Lambeth admissions Common Application Form (CAF) which must be completed online here. We arrange viewings via appointments for prospective parents. Place allocation is conducted within the Lambeth admissions code and the school has no final say in this process. You would need to contact the Local Authority for Admission and Appeals arrangements.

Meetings for children and families allocated places are held in July. Home visits are arranged to help children make a smooth transition to their school life. All children in Reception start in September, with start dates staggered over two weeks.

In Year Admissions

If you move into the area or wish to transfer your child/ren to our school, you must do so through the Lambeth In Year Admissions Policy. You will need to apply via the Lambeth Parent Portal at Details are also available on the Lambeth Council website. As a school we are more than willing to support families through this to speed up the process and help, especially if there is a language need. The Local Authority will ensure that all in-year applications are dealt with by the 31st August at the latest each year.

Families may make direct enquiries to the school for admissions. If there are vacancies in the required year group and Lambeth hold no waiting list, it may be possible to start children after school induction procedures have been followed.

Resource Base Admissions

Admission to the ASD Resource Base is through Lambeth SEND. We welcome visits from parents of children with ASD but decisions about placement is made by an SEND panel.
