Important Update re-School Closure

Please read this important letter from Mr Farrell about school closure due to Covid-19 restrictions:

Dear all,

I hope that you have had a restful holiday and a peaceful New Year.

Following on from recent advice from the government, school will not fully reopen to all pupils until January 18th at the earliest.

This means that your child should not come to school tomorrow, Tuesday 5th January.

We will begin inviting the children of parents and carers who are currently employed as Critical Workers during normal school hours‚Äč to come to school from Wednesday 6th January - further details relating to start/finish times will be available on our website later. We will contact you via email or text to let you know when to check our website.

Please see the link below with regard to who are considered Critical Worker:

If you believe that you are a Critical Worker please complete the form attached and return it to before 12 noon tomorrow.

Similarly, if your child has an EHCP you will be contacted directly by Agata Benson regarding arrangements for your child's return. Please note that this does not include draft EHCPs. It is very important to realise that your child may not be working with their usual class teacher, their usual Teaching and Learning Assistant, following their usual timetable or be in their usual classroom. This is due to the school needing to operate differently in order to adhere to the most recent government guidelines.

If your child currently has a named Social Worker supporting them I will be in touch with you directly to arrange for your child to come to school.

While the government guidelines suggest that all nurseries will be open as usual, this is not the case for nurseries run by mainstream primary schools. This means that unless you meet the Critical Worker criteria, your child has an EHCP or your child has a current or named Social Worker, that your child will not be invited to attend our Nursery until at least January 18th.

If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals the school will contact you in due course once we have been advised of the arrangements for providing support to you.

Crown Lane will not be offering Breakfast or After School provision (Fit For Sport) until further notice.

Online learning will be provided for all other pupils from Wednesday 6th January and until further notice.

I recognise that the current situation is not ideal for most families and that we would all prefer to be together at school learning. In light of the current circumstances, can I ask you to please be patient with our staff and not to contact the school unless it is absolutely necessary.

I will be in touch with further updates soon.

Thank you,

Gavin Farrell
